TELEHEALTH SERVICES

Northern Star offers remote services. Telehealth is a face to face meeting with your Northern Star provider using the HIPAA secure video conferencing platform, Zoom. You interact with your provider using a webcam on a computer or smartphone from the privacy of your home.

What are telehealth appointments?

Northern Star offers Telehealth appointments which are online counseling services from the privacy of your home. We utilize an online conferencing software called Zoom. Zoom is free for clients, HIPAA compliant, and accessible via computer, tablet or phone. Please call to verify your insurance covers telehealth; a specific consent form may apply.

*If you are already a Northern Star client, you can stay with your current provider and transition to telehealth services as you need.

Is counseling difficult?

Counseling is rewarding but at times, it can be difficult as you challenge old beliefs, make new insights or create positive habits. We will support you along your path.

How much does therapy cost?

  • Initial intake sessions are billed at $300.00/each for the initial session and documentation

  • The published rate for individual, family, couples, and youth sessions is $250.00/hour

  • The private pay discount rate is $125.00/hour (for uninsured or clients opting out of benefit use)

  • 10% discount off private pay rate for military and first responders opting out of benefit use

  • Group sessions are billed at $60.00/hour

  • There may be discounts available for individuals without insurance, please contact our staff or your counselor for more information.

  • We bill various insurance as a courtesy to you including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicaid, UHC, KidCare CHIP, Aetna etc. Please call your insurance about coverage as well as your responsibility for deductible, co pay and co insurance.
