Jennifer is an Independent Contractor providing clinical services for Northern Star Counseling.
Jennifer Mumaugh (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker whose practice currently focuses on providing Gender Affirming Care to transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse individuals to include letters according to the Standards of Care by WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health). She has specific knowledge and training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) issues, Gender Affirming Care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), and is licensed in the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) protocol. Additionally, Jennifer has provided treatment for trauma and life-disturbing experiences, depression, bipolar, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She has experience and training in comprehensive diagnostic assessments, adolescent residential treatment, and suicide risk assessments. Jennifer provides mental health services with a person-centered perspective, compassion, and an enthusiastic dose of humor that enriches her approach to supporting people.
Jennifer has conducted a number of workshops for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Conferences, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, and the general community on transgender well-being. She is a former board member of the Wyoming Chapter of National Association of Social Work (NASW). Jennifer is a current member of WPATH. She also volunteers on the Wyoming Health Council Statewide Advisory Committee.
Jennifer was born in Colorado Springs, CO into a military family and later moved with her family to Cheyenne, WY. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wyoming.
